Find My Friends was retired as a separate app back in iOS 13, when Apple merged it with Find iPhone into a single app called Find My. If you are hunting for the old app, this is why you cannot find it.
Where people-sharing lives now
- Open the Find My app (not Find My Friends).
- Tap the People tab at the bottom.
- Tap the + icon to share your location with someone, or view locations already shared with you.
Sharing is still two-way and consensual
Just like the old app, a location share only appears once both people have accepted it, and either person can stop sharing at any time from the People tab.
On Android or mixed families
Find My people-sharing is Apple-only. If your family has a mix of iPhone and Android devices, use Google Maps location sharing or Life360 instead, since both work across platforms.
